Abstract: A 3 – D [elastic - plastic] finite element method is applied for simulating the continuous rolling o sheet. The deformation of the metal and the distributions of stress are obtained. In this paper, a 2-faotor friction layer is presented to solve the problem of the boundary friction in rolling. To establish the model of tension, a dynamic loading method is used. The effect of tension on the flow pattern and the distribution of stress are also studied.
