Abstract: Graphic method is recommended in solving the heat balance equation of the film cooling walls. The adiabatic wall temperature is evaluated from the experimental correlation equations obtained recently by the present authors. Thermal radiation of gaseous flame, film cooling, external forced convection and external wall radiation are all considered in heat balance equation. The equilibrium wall temperature and film cooling effectiveness can all be evaluated. Effectiveness, coefficient of heat transfer, emissivity of gas flames and heat flux can all be evaluated directly with the aid of specially designed charts given in this paper.
