Review of Dynamical Analysis Methods for Launch Vehicle Mechanisms

Abstract: In recent years, launch vehicles is progressing in a number of directions, including the capacity to carry heavy loads, the ability to be reused, multifunctional modularity, high reliability, and commercial launch. This trend imposes higher demands on various mechanisms performing specific functions within launch vehicles, necessitating the development of more precise launch vehicle mechanisms dynamics analysis methods. To comprehensively review the current state of launch vehicle mechanisms dynamics analysis methods, this research systematically introduces four fundamental theories widely used in this field, starting from the characteristics of launch vehicle mechanism dynamics analysis. It details the dynamics analysis methods for three typical launch vehicle mechanisms: connection and separation mechanism, the landing cushioning mechanism and the aerodynamic control mechanism. Finally, it gives an outlook on the future research directions for launch vehicle mechanisms dynamics analysis methods.
