Vibration Suppression of Space Flexible Structures Embedded with Parallel Piezoelectric Actuators

Abstract: A flexible structure vibration suppression system embedded with parallel piezoelectric actuators is proposed to solve the problem of space flexible structures vibration suppression. A two-dimensional parallel piezoelectric actuator with high torque output is proposed, the parameter design and performance analysis of the actuator are carried out, the principle prototype of the actuator is developed and its actuation performance test is completed. The test results show the torque output capacity of the proposed actuator is over 100 N·m. Considering the truss structure can be equivalent to a flexible beam, a dynamic model of the flexible beam embedded with the piezoelectric actuator is established, and the influence of the dynamic parameters such as stiffness, damping and mass of the actuator on the response of the vibration suppression system is analyzed, and the vibration suppression effect under the velocity feedback control is clarified. The experimental results show that the proposed vibration suppression system has a good vibration control effect, and can suppress the vibration amplitude of the flexible beam to a small range in a short time. The research results will provide a theoretical basis for the space flexible structures vibration suppression actuators design and control.
