Abstract: Object-oriented database systems provide an approach to representing and manipulating product information, which has received wide attention for science and engineering applications. However ,it still needs a period before attaining application. The object layer model is an alternative approach that builds on the relational data model to define complex entities. The characteristic of product data is discussed. Object-oriented layer product structural informational model representation is presented, e. g. product configuration management, data access control management and version management. Based on the aspect of product data model, an effective storing and retrieving method is given.
