Abstract: Based on the leaf spring modeling built by the professional software Adams/Chassis Leafspring, and considering that the software is specially applied to traditional leaf spring and many key parts such as the end contact and interleaf friction are not defined well. So these key parts of modeling are re-defined to acquire the secondary developed model based on the professional software Adams/Chassis Leafspring. A series of experiments about mechanical properties in leaf spring are conducted by us in our lab, and the reliability of the secondary developed leaf spring modeling is proved through the comparison of test results with model simulation results. Besides, the paper presents a way to calculate dynamic stiffness for the tandem suspension leaf spring and provides explicit explanation about the formula. The dynamic characteristics of the tandem suspension leaf spring is summed up according to the simulation results under different working conditions, which provides theoretical basis for improving vehicle ride performance.
