Abstract: Mechanism and dynamic model of spindle rotation induced error compensation (SREC) is addressed with theoretical analysis, computer simulations and experiments. The mechanism of dynamic interaction between the spindle rotation induced error and compensation cutting system is discussed through composite vibration mechanism analysis of spindle rotation induced error disturbance. Based on the above analysis, a new dynamic model of SREC cutting system is presented. The dynamics of SREC cutting process of boring is addressed in details from both Laplace S frequency domain and the time domain with simulations. Theoretical analysis and simulation experiments show, for the first time, that the compensation displacement effect is affected by not only the systematical stiffness of workpiece, spindle and tools, but also the regenerated coefficient of cutting process. The final results indicate the SREC is practicable in reality to decrease the cutting error in many engineering application.
