Abstract: The shortcomings of current definitions of welding position and torch orientation are analyzed. By defining the world frame, the weld seam frame and the torch frame, geometric modeling of welding position and torch orientation is implemented, and strict definition of weld slope, weld rotation, working angle and walking angle is presented.
