Abstract: The cold experiments measured by a laser phase dopple particle analyzer(PDA)and pilot tests are done about effects of the central air on the performance of the radial bias combustion swirl pulverized coal burner(RBC). The cold experiments show that the central air has great influence on the flow pattern and particle concentration at the swirl burner exit. Pilot tests show that the central air has great influence on the coal combustion. In addition, the central air has little contribution to the NO, emission.
