Abstract: In order to simulate the dynamic response of geared rotor systems used in engineering application, the effect of clearance, time-varying mesh stiffness, static transmission error, unbalance mass and flexible shaft are considered, and the dynamic model of geared rotor system is derived. Numerical integration method is used to study the dynamic responses of the system. The effect of speed on the dynamic response, the effect of clearance on jump phenomena of amplitude, the relationship between rotational speed and dynamic mesh force are investigated. The results show that the jump phenomenon of amplitude becomes more obvious with the increase of clearance. The spectrum of vibration acceleration mainly includes the mesh frequency and its high order harmonic. With the gradual increase of speed, the amplitude of one time frequency also increases, and the sidebands of mesh frequency and high order harmonic occur. The spectrum of dynamic mesh force is similar to that of dynamic response. The theoretical calculation and experimental measurement of a geared rotor test-bed are performed, the calculation results are validated by the experiment data basically, and the difference between calculation results and experimental data is mainly from modeling error and measurement error.
