Abstract: The generalized average flow model and Greenwood and Tripp’s contact model for rough surfaces are used to analyze the effect of surface waviness amplitude and wavelength on the eavitation lubrication of parallel sliders. It is found that surface waviness I the most important factor determining the oil film formation ability of parallel sliders. For a given lubricated system, there is an optimum waviness which makes a best oil film formation ability.
