RIGID-PLASTIC FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS OF NOSING PROCESS

Abstract: Considering the strain hardening of the materials friction boundary condition, and so on, nosing process is analysed by the rigid-plastic finite element method. When nosing with the dies having different angles stress and strain distributions and deformation patterns of workpieces are obtained. The effect of die angles on deformation force and distributions of the effective strain rate and hydraostatic stress is discussed. The theoretically calculating results are compared with those of experiment and the optimum die angle in nosing process is proposed.
