MICROFORMING OF SUPERPLASTIC Zn-Al22 ALLOY

Abstract

Abstract: Research on microforming of fine grained superplastic Zn-Al22 alloy is carried out by means of superplastic forming. With the selected material, microformability tests are carried out by using two kinds of stainless steel dies：one with micro-cavity, the other with micro-channel. The results are evaluated with the developed evaluation method. Haracteristics of micro-formabi-lity of the material are clarified with micro-extrusion tests. Effec-ts of lubrication, press and die structure on forming are analy-sed. SEM is used to analyse surface topograph of the formed specimens.
