Abstract: The WS2 solid lubricating films doped with Ag is prepared on 9Cr18 bearing steel by ion beam composite deposition technique. Then, the films is stored in an indoor environment (temperature 18 to 25℃, air relative humidity of 30% to 50%) for 8 years. The friction and wear, surface morphology, three-dimensional topography composition and chemical state of WS2-Ag solid lubricant films are detected by friction and wear testing machine (MS-T3000), FESEM,surface morphology meter and XPS before and after storage. Compared with unstore WS2-Ag solid lubrication film, The results show that the oxygen content increase, the oxidation Ag/W element, and the loss of S element are checked. The friction and wear morphology of the films has presented with lamellar or massive spalling. The wear resistance of WS2-Ag composite lubricating films is shortened 103 minutes than before storage, the films still has a good solid lubrication performance, because the Ag doped WS2, improve its deliquescence and antioxidant properties, which greatly prolongs life and performance of solid lubricating films.
