Abstract: A simplified model of belt conveyor is established. The dynamic equation and rational boundaries of the system are derived, in which the movement is coupled by the rigid – body motion of drive pulley and the elastic motion of belt. The vibration characteristics of tension weight on the conveyor in Shenfu mine district during starting or stopping period are calculated and analyzed. The results are consistent generally with test data.
