Abstract: Networked manufacturing (NM) can be defined as the conception including all kinds of manufacturing activities, manufacturing technology and manufacturing systems based on network. The architecture of connotation characteristics of NM is constructed, which consists of basic characteristics, technology characteristics and function characteristics. The state-of-the-art of NM is introduced, and on the basis, the technology architecture of NM is summarized, which is composed of basic supporting technology, information protocol and distributed computing technology, networked system integration technology, networked man-agement technology cluster,networked marketing technology cluster,networked product development technology cluster,and networked manufacturing process technology cluster. At last, the research tendency of NM is discussed.
