Abstract: With the traction of market demand and the drive of intelligent manufacturing technology development, service plays a more and more important role in the whole life cycle of the manufacturing industry, and the industrial model and industrial form of the manufacturing industry are undergoing revolutionary changes. Based on the value chain theory and the "smile curve", it expounds on the evolution process of the industrial model from the perspective of value creation; and summarizes the innovative business form of the industrial model. Studies show that the growing need for a better life and emerging technologies such as intelligent manufacturing is driving the transformation of the manufacturing industry from "product-centered" to "customer-centered", and different terminal manufacturers will choose different business development paths. On the basis of analyzing the current challenges, suggestions are put forward for the innovative applications of industrial model: improving the understanding of service-oriented manufacturing, continuously supporting the basic work of service-oriented manufacturing, strengthening the research and application of service-oriented manufacturing-related technologies, to promote the manufacturing industry shifting from the low end to the middle and high end of industrial chains.

Key words: intelligent manufacturing, intelligent service, industrial model, customer-centricity, service-oriented manufacturing
