Type Synthesis and Optimization of Main Driving Mechanism for Servo-punch Press

Abstract: An Euler buckled beam formed negative stiffness mechanism is proposed and the static characteristic of which is analyzed. Servo drive turret punch press is a new type of press with high-speed, high-frequency and high-precision. The main driving mechanism is a very important part whose type, dimension, performance can directly affect the main performance of punch press such as efficiency, precision and punching force. Based on the analyses of mechanisms being used, type synthesis of main driving mechanism is done. The characters of two different types of mechanism are analyzed. Two optimization methods of objective function method and performance atlases and their application are analyzed. Optimization objects using objective function method are proposed. To recognize the mechanism characters better, two types of mechanism are optimized by using different methods mentioned above. This research provides a train of thought and method for type synthesis and optimization of main driving mechanism of servo punch press.
