Abstract: The Performance of double conical continuously variable transmission(CVT) and its effect factors are investigated by experimental method. An experimental device of the CVT is designed and manufactured, a performance test bench of the CVT is established, and the performance experiment of the CVT is carried out. The experiment results show that when the transmission ratio, input speed and the pressure of the hydraulic cavity remain constant, the efficiency of CVT increases with the increasing of the input torque, finally reach the maximum, and decrease later; when the transmission ratio, input torque and the input speed remain constant, the efficiency of CVT increases with the decreasing of the pressure of the hydraulic cavity, but the CVT cannot transmit the power effectively with too low pressure of the hydraulic cavity ; When the transmission ratio, input torque and the pressure of the hydraulic cavity remain constant, the efficiency of CVT decreases with the increasing of the input speed; When the input speed, input torque and the pressure of the hydraulic cavity remain constant, the efficiency of CVT increases with the increasing of the transmission ratio.
