Single Pulse Discharge Channel Expansion Laws of EDM

Abstract: The surface of electrical discharge machining (EDM) processing is consisted of a series of discharge pits. The single pulse discharge rule has very important significance to the research of the electrical discharge machining technology and surface quality prediction. The pulse discharge channel formation and expansion mechanism is studied and the influence of discharge parameters on the discharge channel expanding is discussed. A mathematical model is established. Pulse discharge experiments are carried out in kerosene medium and the pulse discharge pits diameters are measured. Model of single pulse discharge diameter according to the established mathematical is regressed, and the regression formula calculation values and experimental values agree well by comparing.
