The Reliability Syllabus of Mechanical Products

Abstract: High quality and reliability of mechanical products become increasingly significant due to severe competitions in modern market. To improve reliability, maintainability and supportability are primary targets of quality and reliability activities of mechanical product. The syllabus of mechanical reliability has considered the characteristics of mechanical product and the generic of reliability technologies. It provides a basic rule for reliability activities in mechanical engineering, the core procedures of reliability research, and the guideline to implement reliability theory and technology in enterprises. The reliability syllabus covers all aspects of mechanical reliability engineering such as collection and analysis of reliability data, reliability design, screening critical components, reliability test, manufacturing reliability, reliability in assembly process, reliability maintenance and assurance, reliability specifications and standards, reliability management, and among others. The syllabus provides effective procedures to guarantee high reliability of mechanical product, and to prompt continuous growth of reliability. It should be valuable to improve reliability of mechanical products in stages of design, manufacturing and service. This will be an effective step towards the high reliability of mechanical product.
