Abstract: The wasted coolant is continually discharged into the environment so far. A non-discharge decontamination system that integrates filtration and antisepsis of the coolant is presented. The design ideas of a magnetic separator, which removes dregs from the coolant by sucking from inside wall of the tub, and a maze, inside which ozone is introduced through decompression to perform antisepsis is discussed. The dreg within the filtrated coolant is less than 15 mm,analyzed by scanning electron microscope. Compared with other known decontamination methods, our system significantly improves the duration of the grinding wheel and the antirust performance of the coolant. Other machining technique performance, such as roughness of the workpiece surface, are also improved. As demonstrated by microorganism test, more than 99% of the bacteria are killed. The coolant non-discharge is regarded decontaminate as an integrated part of the green manufacture.
