Abstract:

Cr13 stainless steel is welded through cold metal transfer(CMT) surfacing. Then surface rolling refinement layer of deposited metal is prepared by high pressure rolling machine to improve the nonuniformity of structure and mechanical properties. The micro-structure and properties including micro-hardness, abrasive resistance and corrosion resistance of the layer are discussed using optical microscope(OM), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), micro-hardness tester, friction and wear tester and electrochemical workstation. The results show that the size of grain can be refined obviously. The average micro-hardness of CMT rolling refinement layer is 403.62 HV, while its original weld is 287.83 HV. The rolling refinement layer shows the excellent wear resistance, but corrosion resistance is worse than original welded joint. After high pressure rolling, the nonuniformity of structure and mechanical properties have been improved.
