Structural Reliable Life Prediction Based on Conjugate Gradient Algorithm

Abstract:

Based on the performance measure approach, the model for reliable life of mechanic structure is built, and a reliable life prediction method is proposed. By expressing fatigue life as the function of random variables, the reliable life prediction problem is converted into a spherical constraint optimization problem which can be solved using performance measure approach and then the reliable life can be gotten directly. Because most life functions are high non-linear, advanced mean value (AMV) algorithm does not have good convergence rates and often diverge. Based on AMV algorithm, a conjugate gradient algorithm is proposed to apply in the reliable life analysis problems, and the convergence of the proposed algorithm is presented in theorem. The proposed method is demonstrated with a shaft example, the results show that the proposed method has high efficiency and precision.
