Abstract: Eigen-frequency of air spring suspension is an important index of ride comfort and road friendliness, on the basis of the corresponding standards at home and abroad, a comparison between the domestic standard of GB 4783—1984(The measurement of eigen-frequency and damping ratio of vehicle suspension system) and the aboard standards of the Council of the European Union Council Directive 96/53/EC and vehicle standards bulletin VSB 11 of Australia the standards in use is performed in two ways of actuating method and data processing method, and a series of full scale vehicle step input tests of an electrical controlled air spring heavy vehicle are carried out. The limitations existing in data processing according to the domestic and foreign standards are discussed, and by the theoretical analysis of half vehicle model simulation and body pitch tests, a correct eigen-frequency of suspension is obtained through the aided tests of body pitch. Finally, supplement suggestions and the aided tests to the method of electrical controlled air spring heavy vehicle suspension’s eigen-frequency test and the way to analyze the test data are presented.
