Abstract: A novel hybrid drivetrain based on electromagnetism continuously variable transmission (EMCVT) is studied and its power flow model is put forward. The EMCVT’s speed ratio control , working models and control strategy are researched. The controller framework of hybrid electric vehicle(HEV) drivetrain is designed. The preliminary dynamic performance simulation on low speed and heavy load condition and high speed condition of HEV is carried out. Through simulation, the control effects of vehicle speed tracking and engine speed tracking are analyzed, and the variation curve of battery charge state, the variation rules of the rotating speed and torque of the EMCVT, the engine output power, the battery output power, and the driving resistance power are obtained. Moreover, the variation rule of observed values of magnetic links of direct current excitation and EMCVT are obtained.
