Simultaneous Optimization of Mechanical and Control Parameters for Integrated Control System of Active Suspension and Electric Power Steering

Abstract: Based on the dynamic model of automobile suspension and steering, an integrated control system of the active-suspension and electric power steering is established. Considering global optimal performance cannot be guaranteed by using the traditional method, i.e. designing structure parameters before designing controller parameters, the method of simultaneous optimization design of structure and controller based on simulated annealing algorithm is presented. Simultaneously optimization is carried out by taking the main mechanical structure parameters of the active-suspension and electric power steering system and a part of parameters of the controller as design variables and by taking the comprehensive dynamic performance of automobile as target function. The simulation and test results show that this method can improve the controllability and stability, ride comfort, maneuverability and safety of automobile.
