Abstract: In sheet forming operation, the blank undergoes 3D anisotropic elasto-plastic deformation and there are errors in the simulation results by using the data from the conventional tensile test. An identification approach of material parameters directly using the metal forming processes is presented. This method is to convert the problem of identification of parameters to the problem of seeking optimization, i.e. the least difference between the values of measurement and simulation calculation, and the least squares. The value measured is force-displacement curve of the punch and the parameters sought include the characteristic parameters and constitutive parameters of the material. The moving least-squares response surface method is adopted to reduce the times of calling the calculation of direct problem. It is important to reduce the times of optimization iteration as the simulation of forming process takes much time.
