Anti-sliding Control Simulation of Railway Vehicle Braking

Abstract: The reliable braking is necessary to the running security of railway vehicles, and the anti-sliding control is an efficient way to improve the braking safety and reduce the braking distance. The braking dynamic models of a vehicle and a wheelset are set up. The vehicle has 42 degrees of freedom. The nonlinear suspension force, nonlinear wheel-rail contact geometry and creep force are considered. The braking system model is constructed by considering the friction character of the braking disk and the pressure changing character of the braking reservoir. P controller is used as the anti-sliding controller. Numerical simulation is adopted in the research of anti-sliding control of quasi-high-speed vehicle. It can be seen from the results that the P controller is efficient to anti sliding when the wheel-rail friction coefficient is low. The longitudinal impulse of the carbody and the braking distance are also reduced.
