Abstract: By combining with biomedicine micro/nano bio-robots technology can solve some problems that the traditional medicine cannot do, thus showing its great development potential. As magnetic drug carriers for drug targeted delivery, micro/nano-bio-robot technology is a multidisciplinary study among the robotics, dynamics, nano-technology, biology and medicine. It is of great significance in the clinic treatment of cancer and cardiovascular disease. But there’s still much insufficiency in nano-bio-robot and drug delivery therapy. Magnetic drug targeting method, the primary method of drug delivery, is introduced. Main problems and possible solutions are systematically summarized. A new concept of nano-bio-robot group based on erythrocyte (i.e. red blood cell) is proposed. A nano-bio-robot group as drug carriers gives the advantage of specific targeting delivery for mass therapeutic doses, and is predicted to possibly solve many problems of drug targeting delivery. By using this method, an optimal, controllable, exactly-targeting, highly-concentrated drug delivery system can be obtained. Finally, the future prospect of nano-bio-robot and drug targeting delivery is discussed.
