Abstract: Based on rotational coordinates, the Renault-ave- raged Navier-Stokes equations, with a standard turbulence mode1 and wall function, are used to simulate three-dimensional turbulent flow within three different types of stamping and welding multistage centrifugal pump impellers (edge type, airfoil type and partly blocked-flow-passage type) by means of SIMPLE algorithm. The influence of blade profile on velocity distribution, pressure distribution and pump per-formance are investigated according to the computing results, then the principal character of internal flow in the impeller channels are opened out. The efficiencies of three different types of impellers on designed conditions calculated by means of commercial CFD software ANSYS CFX, are consistent with the correlative experimental data. Computer-aided analysis on internal flow field of these pump impellers can reduce depend-ence of experimental data and designed experiences, so it is helpful to optimize and select the design of stamping and weld-ing multistage centrifugal pump impellers.
