PARAMETER OPTIMIZATION OF EDM MICRO-AND-SMALL HOLES BASED ON SIGNAL-TO-NOISE AND GREY RELATIONAL GRADE

Abstract: Based on the experiment with orthogonal array, the effect of parameters on the performance in the process of micro EDM with strong disturbance characteristics is analyzed, with the signal-to-noise ratio method in parameter settings. For reducing the wave property of performance parameters, the optimization problem with multiple performance objectives are transformed into the optimization problem with single objective of grey relational grade, and the optimization combination with multiple performances is gained, through combining the effects results with the grey relation analysis. The experimental results show that the proposed method based on the signal-to-noise ratio and the grey relation analysis method is an effective method which can clearly raise the efficiency, precision and stability of micro EDM.
