Abstract: Design of the descriptive and the situated methods are analyzed. Unexpected discovery (UXD) is a design method of scientific cognation which drives product innovation. Produce innovation design is made to seek UXD in the situated-analogy design process. The function-behaviour-structure (FBS) model and the UXD analyzing module are set up using the purposive combination of situated-design and some designing modes, which required product innovation. The outcome of FBS and UXD is influenced by a situated and a non-situated design. It is testified the situated analogy case of product innovation design is feasible between a tap and a door.
