Abstract: The technology of diesel particulate filter is recognized as one of the most effective purifying technologies of diesel particulate at present, and the ceramic wall flow filter is the most important component of the DPF technology. In order to satisfy the need of the development of ceramic wall flow filter, the optimization study of the configuration parameters of ceramic wall flow filter is conducted. According to the displacement of diesel engine, the filters are divided into three kinds of sizes corresponding to 2~4 L, 6~8 L and 10 L or more displacement of the diesel engine respectively, the lowest filter efficiencies of the filter of different sizes are divided into three grades: 80%, 90% and 98%, and the configuration size and the inside parameters of the filter are optimized based on the dividing of the sizes and filter efficiencies. An optimization method combining the method of region optimization with the second optimization is used in the process of filter optimization. The range of the routeway width and the thickness of the filter wall are determined by using the method of region optimization, and the optimization parameters of porosity and pore diameter are determined by using the second optimization. Consequently, the optimization parameter ranges of different size filters are determined under different filter efficiencies.
