Abstract: To obtain the velocity of flow field for cell attached uniformly and for nutrients supplied successfully, effect of the various angles between main channel and branching channels and of the location of the branching channels along the main channel on velocity of flow in branching channels is studied by numerical analysis. And a new ductwork design is presented based on microstructure of natural bone and conversation of energy and flux. The 3D viscous computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis is carried out on it. The 3D flow simulation results are compared with that of ordinary structure. The conclusion shows that such a 3D flow channel arrangement produces higher velocity and more uniform distribution of velocity in branching channels. That is to say, cell attachment is more uniform and making the number of branching channels increased is possible.
