ELABORATE IMPLEMENTATION OF AN EQUIVALENT DRAWBEAD MODEL IN THE NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF SHEET METAL FORMING

Abstract: Drawbeads are often applied to improve the control of the material flow during the deep-drawing operation. An equivalent drawbead approach is usually used by weighing the efficiency and precision of the numerical simulation of sheet metal forming. An equivalent drawbead model is developed. A contact-searching algorithm for a sheet and a drawbead line is put forward firstly, and then the implementations of the drawbead restraining force and the plastic thickness strain on the nodes of the sheet are elaborated, respectively. For verification purposes, the deep drawing of a square bo simulated with self-developed software SheetForm.
