Abstract: Aircraft design is a complex large-system engineer- ing involved in interactions of multidisciplinary and multi-tech-nology fields. Top-level/detail design technology of aircraft is an important matter of comprehensive technology adopted by the modern countries develops advanced aeronautical/astronaut-ical vehicle systems and is the developing trend of future aircra-ft design. Based on traditional QFD (Quality function deploym-ent) method, the fuzzy quality function deployment (FQFD) theory and the step-by-step hierarchy structure in aircraft top decision are studied. The fuzzy model for computing competiti-ve factor in evaluation is presented. The greatest characteristic lies in the proposed hierarchical structure of house of quality for aircraft top-level design and applying the method of FQFD to aircraft top-level design. An example, in which the key tech-nologies decision for improving the performance and affordabi-lity of a fixed-wing aircraft is studied proves the feasibility of the proposed method. The method has very strong applicabi-lity in aeronautical/astronautical vehicles as aircraft and spacec-raft, etc.
