Abstract: A three-degree-of-freedom dynamic model coupled transverse-torsional motion of a geared rotor-bearing system, which includes time varying mesh stiffness, mesh damping, bearing stiffness and bearing damping, is developed. Influences of involute contact ratio, bearing stiffness, mesh damping and bearing damping on the dynamic transmission error and vibration stability of the gear system are investigated using digital simulation technique. The conclusions are helpful to dynamical design of high-speed and precision gear transmission.
