Abstract: A NURBS surface fitting method with tight tolerance for wrap-around models is presented. Using the sectional design technique, two primary boundaries and some interior sectional curves are extracted. Then a base surface is constructed by skinning these curves. By means of the method of base surface parameterization, an accurate and smooth fitting surface is finally implemented. The practical example demonstrated the feasibility of the proposed method.
