Abstract: Two-axle bending technique with elastic roller (TABTER) is a kind of advanced manufacturing method for bending tubular parts, specially suiting for the difficult-to-work metal materials with high specific strength, and it can obtain a finer forming accuracy. Now the technique is applied to bend split-sleeve and missile body cylinder successfully. Based on the studies of TABTER for circular cross-section parts (TABTER-C), the TABTER for non-circular cross-section parts (TABTER-Non-C) is studied. The autocontrol model of TABTER-Non-C iss built for the first time, and the non-circular cross-section tubular parts of elliptical cross-section are manufactured to verify the model using the sheet-bending NC prototype machine with elastic roller made by ourselves. The experimental results prove the correction of the theoretical analysis. All the works lay a solid foundation for the numerical application of the technology.
