Abstract: Main achievements of tribology research in China during the past 25 years were summarized, including hydro- dynamic lubrication theory & design, micro/nano tribology, material wear mechanism & control, surface engineering, wear-resisting materials, lubricati- on materials and wear statue monitoring technology. Several promising research fields are suggested accordingly, including friction-reducing and anti- wear technologies, manufacture tribology, ecologic tribology and bio-tribology，etc.
