Abstract: Packing problems are categorized as NP-hard problems. It is difficult to acquire the optimized result only by computer. The new methodology to deal with the complex packing problems is cooperated machine intelligence with human intelligence. The interface between human and computer in the virtual reality environment to solve one class of the three-dimensional packing problems is established. A P-admissible configuration space has been constructed in VR by sequence-triplet coding method. A conversed coding algorithm from digital artificial view to computer model is presented supporting for coupling computer algorithms to human intervention. A new approach for solving complex packing problems is provided.
