Abstract: The importance and present research situation of the heave compensation system for deep-ocean mining equipment is analyzed. A kind of active heave compensation system is put forward, and the key difficult problem to detect the heave motion signal of the deep-ocean mining equipment is solved. A simulation test system of the active heave compensation system is built based on the similarity principle and its control strategy is studied. The experimental results show that the active heave system put forward is feasible and has higher compensation precision. A direct service to our country’s strategy of exploiting ocean mineral resources is provided.
