Abstract: The dynamic of pneumatic system is studied theoretically，an optimization object function which takes both the cost and the size into account is proposed. Genetic algorithm is used to the optimization of pneumatic system. The test results show that the optimized system using GA can not only meets the requirement of performance but the size of components in it is smaller than that using typical design method.
