Abstract

Abstract: The influence of filling process on the formation of shrinkage cavity and porosity of steel castings is studied by both experiments and numerical simulation in this paper. The prediction precision is increased obviously. The distribution of shrinkage cavity and porosity of steel castings in practical use are simulated, and the simulation result coincide well with the practical situation.
