Abstract: The main reason on the short service life problem of roller bearings with heavy duty in high stiffness rolling mill, which is widely used in recent years, has been pointed out by the analysis on theory and field testing. The reason is the rolling mill chock can't produce a self-aligning effect neither in theory nor in mechanism. The failure of self-aligning effect lead to abnormal destruction of the roller bearings working under eccentric load.
