Abstract: The important effect of circumferential pressure on the stress-strain and strength properties of resin-bonded sands is revealed througth the high temperature triaxial tests. The modified strength theory for mold sands is proposed, and it is pointed out that the strength properties of resin bonded sands at elevated temperature are mainly depended on their shearing resistance behavior.

Key words: Angle of shearing resistance Apparent cohesion, Circumferential pressure, Resin sand, Stress-strain
