Abstract: The technology of grinding or polishing curve surface is difficult in the precision machining. The changing curve surface can not be machined by common grinding tools. The new material of soft grinding tool is a kind of microcellular elastic-plastic polyurethane form products with an grinding material and a polishing agent within its structure. Grinding and polishing are machining element. The material can be changed by curve surface to be machined in x, y, z direction. It is used for high speed polishing of precision curve surfaces which are metal and nonmetal. The forming theory, the polishing process and manufacturing technology of the new soft grinding tool are studied.
