THE STRUCTURE OPTIMAL DESIGN FOR SWING BODY OF METAL STRAIGHTENING MACHINE WITH 13 ROLLERS

Abstract: In this paper the finite element analysis for the swing body of sheet metal straightening machine with 13 rollers is firstly discussed, then the swing body is designed with the method of structure optimal design. The results show that the weight after optimum is decreased by 1/3. By selecting materials automatienly in the optimal process the whole structure can be composed of common steel plates, ensuring enough strength, sufficient stiffness and the local weight of the swing body.
