OPTIMAL DESIGN OF 3-D MODIFICATION OF HELICAL GEARS

Abstract: In this paper, the interference of profile modification of helical gears with longitudinal modification is discussed, the calculated results show the failure in independent designing of two types of modifications because of inclination of the contact lines on tooth surface. Further, a new 3-D modifying model and an optimal design method which includes 3-D finite element method, flexibility matrix and mathematical programming the optimal objective of uniforming load distribution and decreasing transmission error is achieved.
